I have no clue why anyone would even feel the need to look for a guide to do it faster than regular. It goes really fast as it is. And I don't think any guide will really affect your leveling speed much, it is all up to you: how often you go pee, how long it takes you to kill mobs, how much you chat or get distracted by other things, how much time a day you spend leveling, how often you get ganked or die from other things, how good the group is in the dungeon. It's not like looking at a guide will affect any of that. Don't be stupid and fall for some clever guy's marketing trick that "if you use my guide your wow-character will be maxlevel 50% faster than if you level without the guide", it's obviously just bs.

That’s where the Zygor guide came in handy. There was a mini Zygor viewer within the game that broke down the steps in the quest so I’d be able to accomplish it easier. Do you notice the yellow arrow at the top of the heads of Norciandra and the draenei Proenitus? Well, it’s the “waypoint” and whenever I clicked on the quest in the viewer, it pointed me to a particular path and showed how far or close I was to the quest. It turned green whenever I was on the right track and yellow when I tried to head to different directions.
The leveling path was built around using a Hunter character and run by a player who knew how to use that character well. For the average player running, for example, a Paladin, the guides could be frustrating in spots, due to the level of the mobs. I played through Joana’s Guide with a Rogue (all the way from 1-70) and was able to deal with most everything, except for a few elites and I skipped most all of the group quests.
Zygor is hoping the competition will lay down under the pressure and slowly disappear. Quit letting the corporate gorilla push you around and bite back! Show some teeth!! Never pay (admission) and do have your lawyer vigorously return fire. Slap a counter suit on them so fast their heads will spin! If they want to take the complaint to court, tell them Hell yes and bring it on!
To be absolutely honest, and to necro the kak out of this, this has been the ultimate decider between Zygor and Dugi for me. I’ve not used the guides I already have from Dugi for some time now but am starting a new set of alts. Some of my guildies use Zygor and some Dugi and it got me wondering which to use. I’ve done my homework and was going with Dugi’s subscription service again and saw this in my search results too so gave it a read. LOOOOOL! Not a chance I’m giving Zygor any of my cash, not after seeing the dodgy side of how they do business. And I’ll be making sure any Zygor fans in my circle are informed as well, just to make sure they’re informed as to where their monies are going.
I'm not going to endorse specific addons because there's dozens of addons for every game function and UI modification. Each has their own set of options and way of doing things, so everyone has their own favorite. curse.com and wowinterface.com organize the addons in their repositories by category. So you can easily pull up a list of all the questing addons, or all of the profession addons and take your pick from the list.

Skip ahead to Cata. I purchased zygors guide the day Cata came out and logged in and it was NEAR perfect. Blizzard changed a couple things, and there was really nothing that could be done, you just skip a step or two and keep chugging along in the guide. Following zygors guide i hit 80-85 in ~24 hours played. Maybe not the best times out there, but for sure not the worse. Not to mention i got my cata lore achievement for following the guide to the T, instead of using SiS.

Zygor guides interface has two different options. One has a lot of designs and animations and the other is simple and straightforward. Both of them are really clean and they blend in well with the WoW interface and aren’t too distracting. I like the display option that doesn’t show all the animations and stuff, so I set it to that and everything still worked great. I kind of wish the simple interface was the default option, but switching is no big deal – 9.5/10 here.

On March 23, 2018, Zygor Guides announced that they would end support for their ESO guide. Later, via answers given on the forums, they confirmed they would not add a leveling guide for Summerset. Their guide is Public Domain with Zygor's blessing for the community to create guides. So I took it upon myself to create a Summerset guide for the ESO community.
I think I accidentally clicked a banner for Zygor and got to the website. I'm like, "Bleh, some BS guides", but then I noticed how nice the site is and started reading about the guides. I was like, "F-it, why not" and subscribed to Elite. Loaded everything up and got in game. I was surprised at how nice the addon interface is and how many options there are to control it.
Whereas Dugi has now changed to a subscription rate of only $6.99 per month, which gives you everything including all expansion updates. This is such a good deal, I bought some of Dugi’s guides before he offered this rate but have now switched over to it. If you are feeling ripped off by Zygor, invest $7 to give Dugi a try and I’m sure you will be very quickly converted. Plus you have the bonus of ending your subscription at any time, so if you stop playing wow you havn’t forked out hundreds of dollars on something you aren’t using.
I believe that if, at any time, Tekkub intimated in any way that you could use his code, whether it was thru formal contract or an informal ‘hey if you want’ email, … from that point on, unless he formally requires you to stop using it, that you are free to continue to do so. At such time as Zygor gained ownership of said code, it would be his responsibility to use a discover process, similar to when you search for liens on a home prior to buying it, to make sure no one had been given prior permission to use it. Tekkor should have made Zygor aware of anyone commercially using his code, and Zygor should have made a formal request of you Dugi, to stop using the code, long before he took legal action against you. Lawyers put their pants on one leg at a time like anyone, and there is a reason everyone tells lawyer jokes. So just because he is using an attorney doesn’t mean he is within his rights. That IS a joke! And, he can’t specify an amount to pay, or ‘he’ll take you to court’. He probably screwed himself right there. And he certainly can’t prevent you from creating addons for a game he doesn’t own. Take a deep breath and relax. Just tell him you’ll ‘see him in court’. It will go your way. I guarantee it.
So far it seems like the guides direct you to the easiest/best way to get stuff done. The waypoints they use are better than some other places because it tells you how to get to a certain place rather than saying "Go to X place" it says "Go out of the building and down the path" then once you do those things it says "Go kill X mob Y mob and Z mob until you have A items". It has given some pointers too for an area it was like "If you kill a lava thing it gives you a buff so you can walk on the lava" so it tells you to kill some lava things (JC quest in WoD)

The GUI in the Zygor WOW Leveling Guide is very easy to use. It includes a resizable window that provides everything you’ll need to complete the various leveling tasks down to the slightest detail. All of the guidance is in-game, so you’ll never have to scroll to a PDF or videos to get through a task—it’s all in the dedicated guide window. The guide will always choose the fastest path available to level as quickly as possible.
thank you very much for taking the time to thoroughly with FACTS, screenshots. You provide customers of wow guide addons the facts and screenshots explaining what was going on from 2010 forward RE these great guide addons. I really enjoyed the zygor interface around 2011 better than wowpro. I thought it was craptastic when I saw you have to pay zygor to use the same info in a diff interface but dugi was more open and easy to access and not shady seeming.
One of the new features introduced in Zygor Guides 4.0 is the “Travel System”. Whenever a step in our guide tells you to go somewhere, the Travel System will dynamically calculate the fastest route to your objective from where you’re currently standing. The Travel System will even factor in unique methods of transporation, such as using your hearthstone, and class spells such as the mage teleport ability.
A handful of us donated to Whoknowsit to so he could buy ALL the upgraded guides for MoP for all of us. That was an investment into THIS community not into torrents or into any other. We want it to remain safe for us to continue to use. Whoknowsit is smart enough to know what to look for to take out Zygors' tracking info, but he knows he is NOT perfect. That is why he is STILL careful.
